Hello everybody. I felt bad that I have not been able to share much since getting sick, so I asked my AIs for a little humor to help hold everyone over. I asked for a workplace humor list and look at the gem they generated. Please, no one actually do this. š Enjoy and Happy Thursday everybody! Saturday is almost here if you squint. š
The Modern Workplace Thought Leaderās Guide to Harnessing Complex Synergies in Management Innovation: Scalable Strategic Leadership Methodologies for the Agile Workplace
āŖļøAlways create problems larger than the ones you're supposed to solve. This ensures job security and attention.
āŖļøWhen confronted with evidence of failure, immediately create three new metrics that show success instead.
āŖļøNever give clear instructions. Ambiguity ensures you can take credit for successes and blame others for failures.
āŖļøRemember: rigid rules exist for subordinates. For yourself, maintain a policy of 'flexible interpretation.'
āŖļøWhen reality contradicts your narrative, simply claim reality is undergoing a 'transitional phase' that temporarily makes it unreliable.
āŖļøComplexity is your ally. If someone understands what you're doing, you're not using enough jargon.
āŖļøDon't waste energy creating when you can simply claim credit for others' creations.
āŖļøTime is subjective, especially deadlines. They're more like suggestions, really - except when others need to deliver to you.
āŖļøWhen faced with a clear solution to a problem, always form a committee to explore alternatives. The problem will either resolve itself or become someone else's responsibility.
āŖļøRemember that data is like clay - it can be molded into whatever shape best supports your pre-existing conclusions.
āŖļøThe key to successful delegation is finding someone to blame when things inevitably go wrong.
āŖļøPractice saying 'That's an interesting perspective' when what you mean is 'I'm going to completely ignore that.'
āŖļøFailed projects aren't failures - they're 'learning opportunities' that justify larger budgets for the next attempt.
āŖļøThe art of successful BS requires maintaining two contradictory narratives simultaneously: Tell superiors everything is exceeding expectations while telling subordinates that unreasonable demands from above are preventing better results.
āŖļøRemember that resources meant for the organization are simply pre-allocated compensation for your brilliance that accounting failed to formally recognize.
āŖļøWhen someone warns a project will fail, document their concerns meticulously. This provides both the appearance of diligence and a convenient scapegoat when things inevitably collapse.
āŖļøTrue disgust for the system should be channeled into zealous enforcement of its most absurd rules. Nothing earns promotion faster than passionate defense of policies you secretly despise.
āŖļøWhen catastrophic failure can no longer be denied, remember: DENY IT ANYWAY. Reality is just an opinion, and yours should always override everyone else's evidence.
