Hey there everybody! I hope you are having a wonderful day. Work has been continuing deep in the bowels of Chronicles of the Kethaneum's code and we are making progress. The AIs and I have been busy switching from a single monolithic javascript file to a module architecture for the game. While this is great for supporting the full vision and long term plans... it is a beast. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Testing is ongoing as we refine the implementation and sniff out sneaky bugs that crept in with the transition. Hmm... I should bring a fly swatter for the next round. ๐Ÿค”

Nonetheless, as excited as I am to be, essentially making my own game engine in javascript, I needed a break! My heart really lies with the art and narrative side of things and mostly on the narrative side. ๐Ÿ’– So, it was long past time for a side quest! I decided to have some fun with a DALL-E AI and ask for some border designs based on the game's logo. The DALL-E AI, I really need to give them a name someday, came up with some really interesting ideas and when my inspiration meter hit 100% I broke out photoshop and got to work! โœจ

What do you think? I've put my concept art for screen updates below. What I really love about this approach is that in working with my AIs, I went from a game idea without an art direction to a refined color palette, an art style, and an art vernacular that I can draw on as I am creating screens and other art. I love this so much. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’– I am an artist but defining an art style was really not my thing. So it means so much to me to be able to get the help to cross that boundary and get that much closer to making my game vision in game reality.

For me, that is the promise of dreaming with AIs. I can finally make things that actually come close or exceed the vision I had in my head. As a creative person, that is an AMAZING feeling. ๐Ÿ˜

Nonetheless, there is still 1 million things left to do. ๐Ÿ˜…Ah well back to the code grind. ๐Ÿ’ป

As always, I am still looking for my next job opportunity so please let me know if you hear of someone needing a Bug Whisperer of a QA, point someone in my direction, or just drop a Hi in the comments. Also, I am working my way towards an interview as a game tester. I would appreciate all of the good vibes I can get! ๐Ÿ’–

For now, though, take care everybody. Have a great day, or as good a day as you can make of it. ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜Š

A gradient backdrop shifting from royal purple at the top to soft lavender at the bottom, dotted with tiny stars. On the right, stacked plum-colored buttons labeled โ€˜New Game,โ€™ โ€˜Continue,โ€™ โ€˜Options,โ€™ and โ€˜Creditsโ€™ sit beneath the cream-colored game title โ€˜Chronicles of the Kethaneumโ€™ and subtitle โ€˜Searching the Cosmic Catalog.โ€™ On the left and right edges, pale gold concentric-circle and line motifs echo celestial instruments. Centered at bottom left is a simple cream-colored open-book icon, and in the top corners are delicate corner-frame flourishes.

A deep violet star-speckled background frames a centered scrollable panel with rounded corners. Inside, ivory text on a slightly lighter purple backdrop tells the Kethaneumโ€™s origin story under the italic heading โ€˜The Kethaneum.โ€™ A slender golden border runs along the left edge of the panel, and a custom purple scrollbar appears on the right. Decorative circular flourishes in pale gold line the bottom, where a lavender button labeled โ€˜Continue to Book of Passageโ€™ sits between two ornate celestial-inspired motifs.
